03 chopper fuel tank problem

Can the chopper riders tell me how far you can travel before you have to switch to reserve? I can only get 90 miles on my 03 chopper before switching to reserve. Book says bike holds 4.25 gals. But when I top off after 90 miles she only takes 2.25 gals. WHAT IS GOING ON??

I stop around 85- 100 miles to fill up. The petcock is so far to the back of the tank its almost useless.....I've run the 04 Chopper out. Should be able to roll further but I dont carry spare gas to find out just how far on a tank. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Btw Im around 47-48mpg.

Thanks Harry for your posting. I guess I'll have to do a test and carry some gas and let her run out.
