Im having some trouble with my 02 pitbull. Bike runs great for awhile, stop somewhere and shut it off and it has trouble starting up sometimes and other time it just wont start at all and doesnt get any spark until it has sit for a while. Any Ideas?? had to push it home the other day. Went outside this morning and it fired right up.

Welcome.

Try your battery. You need to have a very good batt for these bikes plus keep the bike on a battery tender. Also when the bike is running make sure your getting about 14.2 volts back to the battery. If not check your voltage regulator and stater. Also your bike may have a breaker or a fuse coming back from the VR to battery mack sure that is not tripped or blown. And don't jump start it with something as big as a car battery.

Thats the easy stuff 1st

Do a search here on "Cam Sensor" "or "nose cone." Some have had trouble with that ignition sensor going bad or being heat sensitive. Since you have an '02, this is a harley part you can get at a dealer if you need one.

I'm with Chacha. That's a cam sensor issue. In the event that doesn't fix it, go after the Ignition next.
