02 pitbull sick please help

My red led on my thunderhart stays on when running but my bike backfires out exhaust badly and when it does the light will flash with each backfire and the bike will even cut off. I the more throttle i give it the more tailpipe flames i get. Itll usally turn over quickly after it cuts off but wont fire up quickly. Any ideas? Thanks

Has your bike been running well lately or are you just getting it out of winter storage? It sure sounds like your carb is out of adjustment. Not sure why your thunderheart would flash when it backfires. I'm sure someone will jump in that knows more about that.

I rode the week before and it did so,so. I did notice a pop here and their but then the following week it got real bad. Trash in carb?

Agreed!

New Plugs for sure, inspect the wires. After new plugs adjust the carb search for S&S Carb Adjustment in the search plenty of hits will come up. Might want to drop the float bowl and inspect for any crap in there.

As to your thunderheart light going out when it coughs, thats becuase engine isn't running good and its cutting in and out. New plugs,clean carb and adjustment should fix it.
