'02 Bulldog Inner Primary

The chrome is bubbling off the top of my inner primary. Not sure if it matters but this is the 107". I am going to start looking for a replacement. What part is compatible? Is it S&S specific or will Harley stuff work? Thanks, Jack

Jack,
Your Primary will most likely be a HD primary. Open the outer primary and look inside at the part number. It will most likely have "HD" stamped in it if I am correct, that will also tell you what to order. If I am wrong then someone will chime in for you. Good luck! :up: Also a picture of it will help determine what it is too.

It most likely will not be a standard harley! In order for the belt to clear the wider tire
the inter primary needs to have an offset so that the trans pulley lines up, therefore
the clutch pack is out further, so the alternator needs to move out too. The inter-
primary should be marked inside as to how much the offset is, there will be a list of
offsets inside, the one with an X is yours, most likely 1" or 1 1/2" offset.

I kinda figured that it was HD and that it was offset but, better safe than sorry. I saw a used one on a website for a wide tire softail. I'll have to check mine to see if the offset matches. I'm actually considering just blasting the chrome off of mine painting it and, having it hydro printed. My brother has a friend that does that stuff. It's pretty slick. I don't know how well it holds up though. I appreciate the help.
