Rubber Gromit on milage reset button

2005 BD BDM Chopper. Tried to order new rubber nipple cover for reset button on speedo was told I needed to buy whole new speedo??

I've seen other bikes same year same model grommet pulls right off and can be put back on.

Yea i took mine to the shop and had service done on it they told me the same thing I needed a new speedo. So they order the speedo and tell me to bring her in to have it put on when i picked the bike up it was the same speedo.
go figure glad it was under warrenty and i did not have to pay

Rainer, all the new units have a sealed button now and I believe BDM just swaps then out with Autometer who supplies then to BDM. You might try calling Autometer and see if they might still have the button available.

What Gas says is worth trying only be careful... i pushed mine a tiny touch too hard one time and it very slightly cracked the clear lens on the speedo at the hole where the stem comes thru.

Good news. Was able to fix it. Looks like new. It took two pairs of hands, blunt tweezers, dull lead pencil & some very carefully placed glue/sealer. It is suppose to be a sealed unit as you stated in your previous post Thanks Rainer
