The previous owner had installed a fueling oil pressure gauge on the bike. Well It fell off off the bike going down the road and blew oil everywhere. The threads must have vibrated loose.

What was modified to install this? I'm fine with not having the gauge, if I can just put a bolt in there?

If you dont want another gauge simply unscrew both parts, adapter and sensor(remove wire from oil pressure sensor first) and just put the oil pressure sensor back in. It will screw into the same hole, as it came stock. Easy peasy. Save the adapter in case you wanna put in a gauge later.

Thanks. I think I might go ahead and get a new gauge. Since that area gets so hot, what kind of lock tite is good to use when putting a gauge back in there?

Red is as good as you can get. Not sure if you wanna go that secure. Blue will probably do fine. If you can go over the bike n ck for loose shit, you will save urself headaches down the road, well mostly. Stuff always happens.

They now make loctite ORANGE -- Holding power close to red but meant to be removed like blue.
There is also a special high temperature locking thread compound (not by loctite -- will have to check it later as I have some.)

Thats one way to do it. I dont know if anything is still available but, there is a steel braided line that will run up to the rockerbox cover and the bracket mount will hold the gauge and mount to the corner of the rockerbox cover.

Get the adapter to put it in the tappet screen hole, so it is pointing upward, so you can see it
Someone show him a picture, my phone is screwed up so I can't find folders of pictures

Thanks guys.

Another thing i noticed is the adapter that is currently on my bike will let you turn it back and forth. I'm not sure if its made to be that way or if its suppose to tighten all the way down?

Yeah, If anyone has a link to this, that would be great.
