Scanning through the manual from that drop box link a few have sent me I can't read the wiring diagram, it's to blurry when I zoom in on it. Is there a fix for this or does someone have a paper copy they could take a picture of an post?

Wow the price keeps going up like everything else in this world.
Its going to get to a point where these bikes will get shoved off in a corner and never see light of day again or there going to get stripped for parts...when you really think about it every year there is less and less of these bikes still going because of getting wrecked, stolen or people just dont want to spend the money to fix them...at the very end of the day they are only worth so much and i understand people not wanting to put the money back into them...this is why i work on them so cheap to help people out that normally wouldnt pay to fix them...i love the bikes and i want to see them still going years and years from now...

Even a namz harness is 315 or better and that's not counting the extra work involved (controls etc)
That harness needs to be replaced. If you were an electrician or an serious DIY computer guy you might be able to trace and alabel everything and clean it up in the process but that's going to be much much more work.

Your best bet, replace the backbone harness, get an axle's kit from curtis.
Document EVERYTHING as you do it (including making note when removing the old setup) Take Pictures - take pictures.
take your time. Make sure colors match as you install things (we just had that issue)
Use Marine heat shrink(built in adhesvise),Use dielectric grease to seal connectors from water.

Just agreeing here with everyone who said to get rid of that wiring mess, order a new OEM harness but get the “new” EHC from Curtis. Went a very similar road a few years back and no problems since.

Beautiful k9. Hope things are going well with your wiring situation. If you haven’t made a decision yet, I completely agree with everyone who said to go back to original harness and new EHC from Curtis.

You didn’t ask about this, but I noticed your bike has the TP rocker boxes. My 2006 Mastiff has them as well and not the S&S version. So far (and that’s been a lot of miles - almost 20k) I’ve had no problems, but others have. If you start to hear any ticking from up there, have it looked at quick.

Ok this is news to me, I'll have to look into the rocker issues, thank you!!!

Hi folks, recently bought a 2006 k9 very clean very nice...bought it with a burnt out starter & a rats nest of home made wiring...you can pop start the bike which I have done the last few evenings just to ride it an get a feel for her before it goes down for the foreseeable future..

Previous owner cut the ehc out of the bike an has maybe 7-15 different wires running here an there to make the bike run, which it does very well I put maybe 140 miles on it between the last few evenings. Now I must determine where to go from here. I'll attach pictures of the mess under the seat, fairly certain it beats anything you've ever seen. Taking opinions on routes to go...I'm not an electrician an my patience runs slim but but I'm typically financially motivated to do my own work. Lol

interested in hearing of a simpler control box I could add, switching over to harley controls an buying bars w/ a harness for that, or any other options.

planning on calling namz tomorrow thier only about 2 hours away an getting a rough estimate on having them get the bike squared away. But please share your thoughts & thanks!!

I had NAMZ re-wire my 06 Mastiff shortly after I bought it new in 06. They do meticulous work.
Never had a problem ! Jeff knows his stuff !

I purchased my scooter new in 2005. Ten years later I had the entire bike rewired just to remove the ehc. I now have 2 fuses, correct caue wires and no issues at all. I highly recommend you do the same. The OEM wiring is :flush: and will eventually vibrate itself to death as my handlebar pods did.
On a side note, is that a Fuelie exhaust?
