Pipe issue

Good morning Dog owners!
I was wanting to pick your brains on an issue that I am going to have in the near future...I am going to be installing passenger pegs on my 2006 pitbull and I might have an issue with the pipes being right where my wifes foot will be and don't want to melt her shoe or worse. Is it a possibility to cut my pipes to where they will be facing the ground without messing with the performance?

Good eye, youre right. Regarding cutting, that would depend on how much you want to remove. The baffles or torque cones create the back pressure.

I'd like to cut it just at the bend where it starts to sweep up. I believe that would be enough. Hopefully.

Are there other exhaust pipes that fit my bike? Or am I stuck with the few options for BigDog?
Bigdogpartskingpin.com has vance & hines big radius and mean mother 2 systems that will fit your bike. They did have some of the original mean mother pipes but were not listed on the site. You would have to call to see what they have.

Your pipes are very nice. I believe some guys on this site would be able to direct you to a set that will suit your needs. Maybe you could sell yours but if you cut them they would be worth a lot less.:2cents:
Very true. I’m still debating the idea. I might see if anyone has some big radius pipes they would be willing to trade or something. I don’t know. Lol.

Why not investigate going the other route and instead of cutting them, fabrcate some tips that go on the ends and could point down or out or both?

Never thought of that. I’ll entertain that idea for sure. Thanks for the tip! I’ve been having a brain fart lately.

so many pipe companies make tips for their exhaust, it just seemed like another way to go.
Was thinking something like this https://www.denniskirk.com/kerker/t...-and-slip-ons-108-8022.p444117.prd/444117.sku
No idea if they would fit but you might be able to get a local exhaust shop to make something especially if you need it in black rather than chrome!
or perhaps even https://www.autozone.com/exhaust/ex...00:GEN:ppjmid26991-8-11065&clickId=4405721998
Measure what size you need first obviously.

I can’t tell how far off they are, but I have moved my passenger pegs with other pipes.

either with a bracket of you can even dill and tap a new hole in the frame.
