Torque cones

Any update? I'm in the same boat. I removed the baffles before I even installed the v&h big radius. Lost low end power and they sound obnoxious. I am either going to cut the baffles in half or get torque cones. I hate that back nut on the rear pipe. Pain in the ass to tighten or remove.

Thirty to thirty five years ago I had Anti Reversion Torque Cones and really couldn't tell the difference. I think once you get the sound that you want with or without baffles re-evaluate the jetting in the carb. It's like going from stock exhaust to drag pipes you need to change the jetting. This may change your idea on back pressure from the handling of your bike. If your looking for a little extra performance consider head work.

Would rejetting the carb stop the exhaust growl when shifting gears or letting off the throttle with higher rpms? It scares people.
I'm def gonna rejet if keeping open pipes. I just want the popping mostly gone on decel.

Do you know what jets you have at present?

If I cut the baffles in half, would I still need a rejet?
I would recommend that you at least open the carb and see what jets you have. I am running a .031 intermediate /.076 main on both my bikes & that seemed to be the right combination for my Blow Exhaust no baffles.IMG_0929.jpeg

Why not just put the baffles back in?
