I am running amsoil in the motor and just cant remember if the primary takes the same or is it the trans that takes the same...Help my old dumb ass out here!!! While you are at it tell me again how to change the primary fluid and the trans too!!!

I wouldn't use the same oil in the primary.....I'm pretty sure you have to use something thats made for a wet clutch.....you can use whatever brand you like as long as its made for use with a wet clutch...I just stick with the RevTech

Don't run Amsoil in the primary. No sythetic there! But you can run the synth tranny amsoil in the tranny. For the primary, Revtech is my personal favorite but you can also run the HD Formula X as well.

Banjo Playing PsychoBilly
RevTech Primary in the Primary
Revtech Tranny in the tranny for me

No Problems with either one

Thanks guys for all the responses.....I have been educated and now feel confident i will use Spectra Platium 75/140 in the trans and RevTec in the primary...Seems many feel the Redline Heavy Shock Proof is causing some issue with the Baker 6 speed. Baker now seems to be recommending the Spectra instead of the Redline...BUT tons of the Redline uses swear by it so I am sure it is a good choice too. Bigest issue is finding the Spectra product and the RevTev stuff as well..Any ideas there???
Thanks for all your help:cheers:

IMO, the heavy shock oil is too thick for our lawnmower duty little trannys, particularly if you live in a colder climate.

remember...Ray has over 52,000 miles on his scoot....and he uses the RedLine Heavy Shock Proof.....no problems.....I figure if its good enough for Ray(mileage speaks for itself) and alot of other people on here....its good enough for me.....but...to each their own.....I have 3 quarts of RedLine....and I am going to keep on using it:whoop:
