Hey all, Just a short stupid question!!!! I have an o4 Ridgeback and went to remove the sissy bar and it was a "no go"....This one has a set screw on each side at the bottom and the sissy bar itself goes into the very end of the struts...With the set screws completely out the damn bar would not move...I am I overlooking something or is this thing just a bitch to get out??:job: :bang: :bang:

I encountered a similar problem recently. I wanted to paint my bike so I removed the screws and tried to pull the sissy bar out. NO GO. Since I was removing the fender anyway, I removed the fender struts, sissy bar still attached, hit it with WD-40, a minute to soak in and then rotated the fender strut to remove the sissy bar. They get stuck in there due to water, dirt and other accumulation.

Thanks for the response..I have tugged and hit and just about beat the hell out of it and it will not move a bit..I hate to take the struts off but I will guess that to be my next step...Noticed twin cities...I lived in Eden Prairie years ago..Too damn cold for me and too high taxes!!!
thanks:D :D

Aluminum struts and metal sissy bar. These metals are incompatible and corrode together like a weld. I only put my sissy bar on when I have a rider.

Just in case you didn't install the sissy bar yourself, make sure there isn't another screw in each side. The kit comes with four screws.

You win the prize!!! damn if there was not two screws on each side..but not in seperate holes...Both set screws were in one hole...one on top of the other one..just like you said..
