Not the BD, but my HD

I was riding home on my HD yesterday, and the engine grew really loud when I came to a stop....I put the bike in "N" and the engine still screaming. I brougt the bike to a complete hault, and it went away, but then another problem started. Everytime I came to a stop the bike would shut down when I put it in "N" . The bike is an efi and has close to 5000K miles on it, and its definitely due for a service. Does this sound like a problem with the clutch or gear? Thanks

until you said the bit about it shutting down I was gonna say your throttle is sticking

Shutting down in neutral seems a bit strange! Was the engine noise a ticking, rattling or screaming (not sure of the screaming discription)?
Can't imagine that being a clutch problem.

i just picked up my hd from the shop. it had the problem of it would not idel. brian at valley racing said it could be a cam or crank censor its kinda a common problem. but it was my ECM replaced it with a zipper ECM. not sure if it is the same problem. but something you can check into.

If the bike is due for a svc, by all means take it in and let em know what it is doing. Is the HD still on warranty?

Can't say I heard any rattling, it was more like a loud idle...almost like the throttle was half open....it actually idled really loud even as I was in the gears...then I put in neutral, still same loud noise ....
after that, I shut the bike down, and it went away, but that's when the bike started to shut down everytime its in neutral....

Yup, already in the shop and explained my problem...I purchased extended warrantee at the time of purchase :up: , so I only have to pay a $50 deductible....
