SEARCHING

Hey guys new to the site. Just picked up 2004 Ridgeback with 10,000 miles on it for $4000. I've have torn it down to the frame and am repainting and polishing everything. Is there any way to search for topics on this site? Looks like there is a ton of info on this site. Love it. Dave aka "zz chopper"

Welcome from Kansas. Use the search function. It works...sorta. You may have to search several different ways to find the answers you seek. Or ask. Nice bike for a nice price.

Damn ... I cannot believe I did not see the "SEARCH" option. I'm 73 and cannot find the milk in the frig either. Thanks much.

While I have this bike torn down, I want to make improvements. I want to address the oil system first. This bike has the top crankcase vent plumbed to the top of the oil tank. I believe this is a stock setup. The top of the heads is vented to atmosphere under the bike and the bottom of the crankcase is tee'd into that line. It has a small filter on the end of the line. There is a film of oil and dirt on parts in the area that it exits under the bike. I would prefer to tee the line coming from the heads and the bottom of the crankcase into the line going from the top of crankcase to the top of the oil tank or weld another bung into the top of the oil tank and plumb the top of the heads and lower crankcase line into the top of the oil tank via new bung. This would eliminate any oil mist under the bike. Question one: Is plumbing the tops of the heads and lower crankcase to atmosphere a stock setup for a 2004 model? Question 2: anyone see any problems plumbing the tops of the heads and lower crankcase into the top of the oil tank? Question 3: Anyone doing anything to eliminate venting under the bike short of venting into the back of the air cleaner.
