BDL Open Belt Drives

Never had a bike with an open primary - what are the advantages?
Every time I would go riding and romped down on the throttle, when I would finish riding the primary gasket would leak. If I just eased around it wouldn’t. I’m a little OCD about oil leaks so I would fix the leak . This got old quick. So I researched open primary. Everyone said go with Karata, when I found BDL I saw where these guys were building the open primaries for 3000hp drag bikes. Ok, they know their shit. Watching the videos and then talking to them it was a no brainer!

No primary oil leaks...lol. Bur no. Suppost to be less maintenance cost, better off the line responce, can handle more torque from the motor, on bigdogs as long as you have the outer bearing support your main shaft isn't as likely to bend or mess your bearing up when romping on it.

They have always made belt drives for 04 and older dogs. But never made any gor 05 newer this will be a first for them from my understanding.
That makes sense, somehow I had Baker on the brain when I saw that BDL was thinking about making them. Well, whatever the case may be I am ready to buy them when they are available. I drug my feet when Baker was making them and then they were all gone and I missed out....ready to pull the trigger this time :)
