I'm trying to buy one of these front ends for my 08 ridgeback. American suspension is telling me they dont make raked triple trees for these front ends. For you guys who have them is your rake the same as factory? these bikes have 39 degrees in the neck and 3 degrees in the trees and I have verified that at 42 degrees total. I want the rake exactly the same as factory

Springers don't usually have rake in the tree's, the rocker arms at the bottom make the adjustments if the front end is designed correctly. Very rare circumstances on springers were you need rake in the tree's. With 0 degree's in the tree's the front end will be a little longer in overall length to get the correct ride height. With my springer I can't get the ramp off the lift unless I raise the rear wheel now, hangs over just enough.

If the springer is quality, it rides better than stock.

From what i understand, springers don't need rake in the trees. Since the front wheel is several inches in front of the forks on a springer, the trail should be very close to the stock 3 degree tree.

I was finally able to get one of these front ends. I had a shop set up to install it and they closed. Now my replacement is flaking so I think I'm going to need to install this myself.
Has anyone on here installed one of these? I have read the directions but they are not really complete

1. What is best to cut the fork tubes with?
2. What kind of brake line did you use?
3. What did you use to spread the triple trees at the pinch bolts?

any other info would be great

Thanks

Please do a write up on the install. I want to buy one myself and would like to know what all is involved. I think the springer's make the bike.

Rake is not the most important consideration, Trail is. Get the trail wrong and the bike won't handle properly. Raked trees are used to fix the trail on long bikes.

Is there anyone in here who has one of these springers on their bike? The front end is on but the brake pads are barely hitting the floating rivets for the brake rotor. just barely but it isnt right. I think our brake rotors are proprietary to our wheels
