Plug & play

Ignition wires on plug&play (2-R,Y,O) not matching 04 chopper(O,R,Y,B). I'm thinking the constant hot out of ECH needs to go to key. Similar to 03. Any chance you could help. New here, dont even know if I'm in the right forum. Thankyou

Not sure what plug and play unit you purchased. With Big Dog cycles 2004 is the first year they went with non Harley controls. All your controls just short to ground to turn on that input to the EHC. Then it turns on the output for that option. Key switch doesn't have a hot wire that feeds the coil or ignition.

Thanks gentle,I have schematic shows R,B,Y,O. @ plug 23/24. New plug&play ECH has 2R,O,Y. Had constant hot to coil, other red not live to ignition module, yellow to coil, orange to switch, ground black wire. Didn't work. I'm wondering if the constant hot red wire should go straight to the switch maybe replace the black so it'll be orange and red at the switch looks more like the 03 schematic. Use the other red wire to feed the coil and ignition module I was assuming it would get hot once the key was turned.

My dad just turned this thing over to me. He used wire plus the first time. When that burnt up he ordered this new one, single plug 36 pin(2 rows of 18). Its what they show when Google replacement EHC. Everything plugged up, just that the plug labeled ignition colors dont match. I rewired my 93 sport some time ago, this is a different kind of animal. Schematic shows one red, there are 2 at the plug from EHC. One is hot. I wouldn't imagine you should have power to the coil or ignition module until you turn the key on.

This is what they sell for the 04. The ignition plug has two red yellow and orange my schematic shows black red yellow and orange. I know there's not supposed to be a hot to the key if you use a wire plus system you change the ignition and you run a hot to the key I was just wondering if this wasn't the same situation because the wire set up at the resembles an 03 which has a hot going to the key

Just a note : Keep in mind the wiring your looking at could be for a single fire ignition or a duel fire ignition. That may explain the differences on the wire diagram.

Thanks fellas, turns out my old man had few wires mixed in with the burnt wire plus. He just turned 74, it's been down for about 5 years. It's great to be able to bring it back to life. She's barking today!
Glad you got it sorted out. Ride safe n ride often!
