Finally was able to get a gas mileage on the Chopper. 45.35, its a bit better than the 15 I get outta the GMC. Guess I got it dialed in pretty close. Only $14 to fill instead of $100! Bet we see a lot more bikes this year. Stay safe y'all.

I get 100 miles before switching to the reserve on the 06 Mastiff so about 25 mpg, on the Bagger, I know I've went to Gatlinburg from my house and back to Cherokee NC and its was about 180 miles on the bagger on a tank of gas, but that was stock everything. so that would be about 40 mpg. Since the cam, air breather, pipes and stuff not sure what I get now.

I was am getting 17 in town. Discovered the small Oring was missing in the S&S super g. Hoping that was the problem. Yet to check mileage after replacing it.
If not having the ejector nozzle o-ring installed caused the poor mileage you may also need to re-jet the carburetor. My guess is that your spark plugs would be getting fouled as well @17mpg. This guide will help you just in case you need to make some changes.

I’m a new owner owner, learning a lot. I’m quite baffled with the mileage I’m getting right now also. I’m really not believing it either. I forced 1.6 gallons today, I was at 130 miles. 81.25…no way I’m getting that, I’m stumped. Bike has 3,000 miles on it now, I’ve put 400 since buying it. Has anyone seen numbers like this for you mileage?

Josh, it’s 3 factors. Power to weight and wind friction. Big baggers like my Ultra Classic push monster amounts of air with the front fairing. The ultra also weighs 877 pounds. With the stage 2 on the bike I dyno 95 hp. So it gets roughly 30 mpg on the Hwy. My Bigdog chopper is a 107 S&S . I dyno right at 115 hp with my engine mods I’ve added. Now the big dog is more stream line with no fairing and weighs 716 pounds and I get 42 mpg on the Hwy. Engines that are not loaded up make better millage. These S&S motors from the factory roughly make 1 hp per CC. Their not under load and the motor is able to relax. My cousin has a hot rod, has a 383 Stroker motor with a 6 speed transmission w/ overdrive. He pushes 800hp. Crazy how he gets 22 mpg going down the road at 65 mph. The engine has no load.
