Installing a Compu-fire

Need help from someone that has installed a Compu-Fire Stator and Rotor. Do I install the small washer that comes in the kit be for installing the rotor like it says in the instructions or leave it off thank you advance.

That's the 3 phase which is a little larger than. The 32. If he got the 32 he may not need to do any grinding of bosses. They made multiple revisions to the inner primary some require it majority actually don't.

As far as spacers go, if you had a spacer put it back if you didn't have a spacer before don't need them now.

Thanks Th3 I didn't have the space and after looking at if I put the spacer in it would throw off the alignment.

I've done 2 40A compufire replacements on 2 seperate 08 K-9's and did not have to grind anything on either one of them.

Yea it's the earlier 05-06 models that get the extra work.

Do what you're doing, meaning, it's all about shimming either the rotor or ignition cup. Easy thought like; I want my rotor magnets centered over the cores, and the rotor does not hit the stator when shimmed from the back. Same as; I want my cup window to be centered to the magnetic pickup, and shimmed away from the cup's edge so nothing touches when spinning.

And you always end with a washer so the nut tightens down on the washer, not the main part like a rotor's face. Spread the load but off the face.
