Been awhile BDB. I poked around for a bit and did see anything on this topic, maybe it is not a topic worth discussing??
I am wondering if there is specific manufactures for heavy duty drive belts that anyone could recommend?
Reason Being: Took the '07 K-9 out to drag strip last weekend to ride with my brother's Harley team. It was my first time in competition and I think it ran pretty good during test and tune: 12.5's in the 1/4 with my 300+lbs ass on it keeping reaction time under 0.100. The more comfortable I became, the more aggressive I got with launching trying to get 60' time under 2 sec. First actual race for the $$, get RPM's up at the line, ease the clutch out, bike goes nowhere. Thought it was neutral, stomping shifter to try and figure out what is happening, attendant comes over and tell me drive belt is blown. Snapped the belt right in half, F@#$.
Worst part is the other guy broke out on time so I still won the race not being able to leave box, but the ole' girl was done for the day.
The obvious problem is I need to put a new drive belt on (and probably keep a spare around the trailer for next year). Does anyone have any recommendation for a beefy ass drive belt?? Stock drive '07 Big Dog K-9 - carburated.
Thank you.
