Try Wildsteed Worx. And it is a ROTOR not a magneto.
If Curtis doesn't have one/can't get it timely, you might want to search vendors like JP Cycles, dennis Kirk etc and see if anyone has one on the shelf. Shold be around $110 if I remember correctly.

A magneto is used in an ignition system.

Correct. I found it on j&p. I just wanted to reach out to you guys first because its one of those parts that may be sitting on someone's shelf collecting dust

Damn. How the heck does that happen? That’s making me want to take a look at mine now...:oldwtf:
He admitted to forgetting the locktite when he installed it a few posts above.
Normally its the clutch hub nut you need to be worried about, this is the first case where the nut on the stator loosened that I have seen.

Taking a trip down memory lane. When I first got the bike it was basically abandoned for years and RIDDLED with electrical issues. I RRd the starter, ehc, VR, stator, tach all before I even knew if the bike would run.

My PLAN was to basically dry fit all of these components; prove the bike ran; and then go back and button everything up properly.

When the bike DID start and run i was so excited I completely forgot the plan and just never looked back. Absolutely my fault. Between no loctite, a roaring 117, and a loose motor mount the compensator nut backed off. No biggie, lesson learned

Yeah I hear ya. Sometimes I am my own worst enemy when it comes to staying on top of things like that. All we can do is try right. Post up a pic of the bike when you get it all back together! Hope your riding again soon!
