What front tire are you running on your K9?

I just bought a Shinko rear tire for half the price of the Metzler's I have been running and I see they don't offer a matching front tire in the Shinko 011 Verge. They do have a Shinko 777 front tire for the K9 that don't match the rear, no big deal I guess I always buy the same style for front and rear. Just wondering what front tire everyone else is running with the Shinko rear.

I know I’m getting in on this a little late, but hopefully this will get some feedback. I’ve been looking at replacing front and rear on my 09 K9. My worry is that the Shinko 011 300 is a radial and anything in a 90/90-21 is a bias ply. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to go mismatched.
The Avon Cobra Chrome has a matched set of radials. I know the Avon’s aren’t considered to be the best choice, but I would rather have to purchase a little more frequently and have both radials.
ideas and suggestions please.

I'm sure there are a lot of bikes out there with the radial/ bias ply set up and never have an issue. But the manufacturer's state to never mix. It leaves me wondering if a person had a mixed setup and drove it on a set route and then changed over to an all radial setup and drove the same route, would you be able to notice a change in the handling.

By the way, did I mention that I'm retired with a lot of time on my hands and I like to over think things?

Lol apparently so. I think that might be a generalization.

The front and rear tires on these are in a different stratosphere, so I just don’t think it matters much at all.

It is the best setup I’ve had on the bike. When these wear I will do it again.
Is my 3rd rear and second front.

I'm confident you are correct. I haven't read a single article about anyone piling up their bike due to mismatched tires.
So looking at all the options there are only 3 manufacturers to chose from. Metzelers are the most expensive and there is an additional issue in that their tires have a larger diameter and width in comparison to the other brands for the same size tires. This creates a fitment issue. So those are out for the K9. I currently have approximately 1/8th inch clearance between my front tire and the fender. I'm running Avon Vipers 90/90-21 up front.
The Shinko's are more affordable but they also run slightly larger in size (less than the Metzelers). And, they do not have a matched option.
This leaves Avon tires. As I already mentioned, I currently have the Vipers on my bike. Avon now has the Cobra's. These are a much improved tire over the Viper's. And..... they are available in a matched set! Boom!
I think my mind is made up.

I got 8000 on the cobra rear 250 and on a 300 right now. I still got a little left to go on both.

In TN - Robert and I were looking at the 300, I said I still got 2000 miles left. It made me check the odometer and I realized it was almost 8k then. He didn't agree with me, but I put another 800 on it during the ride home since that discussion and it looks the same, so challenge might be on..haha I'm almost halfway there.

I also run the Avon Chrome, It is with great sadness I have to change the rear tire as the tread is down to the wear bars and it will not pass our state inspection (bastards). The current tire has just under 8,000 miles was hoping to get another 1,000 before replacement, but no sticker no ride.

I have been running Metzelers with no fitment issues, this is my second that needs replaced.
