I use a little grease on the threads from time to time, works for me.

I have a 2004 pitbull and want to remoze paint savors. are they standard thread or do they unscrew the same direction of the cap

Same problem with my gas cap. I'm going to have to destroy cap to get it off and will need a new one.

Now you have to get the paint saver out. If you are real careful, you may be able to turn it with a flat screwdriver and hammer, or order the tool from bigdogpartskingpin.com

ok, it came out pretty easy with channel locks but now tank needs emptied and cleaned out since epoxy just crumbled. I'm sure some fell down in tank. Now that the paint saver is out most gas caps will fit right?Now you have to get the paint saver out. Any harley style gas cap will fit, but you will have to do the same thing to the left side if you want the caps to match. The other option is to order a new cap and paint saver from bigdogpartskingpin.
