No I checked the vin and it has only been registered in Ohio. Just added a pic of the speedo with the other pics. I was thinking that when I went to look at it until I saw it in person. The pictures dont do it justice.

Nice Bike should sell easy.

Hey guys I would like your input. I have a guy that wants the bike but he lives far away so he has to have it shipped. He wants a local Harley Dealer to check out the bike first then if everything is ok he will wire me the money and the shipper will pick up the bike at the dealer. My worry of course is the Harley Dealer.

Play it safe and make sure that you have the money before you ley anybody load the bike up. I had an industrial air compressor that someone was gonna buy and have their "driver" pick up. I took the check to the bank and was informed that it was no good. I told the "driver" that he would have to pay cash or the compressor stayed right where it was. He didn't seem to want to stick around, and I never heard from the guy that wanted the compressor. Better safe than sorry!

That is my biggest worry that they damage it and say it was already there. It would not leave the Harley Dealer until I had the money in my account. I think they have some kind of program where they do this for people.

Damn. Tough call there. Do you know the Harley dealer? I personally wouldn’t be able to do it. I mean seriously if he can’t take you at your word that your bike is spot on.... I just don’t know

Ernie - I have 2 possible recommendations for you:

1) Tell the potential buyer to fly or drive to you to see the bike himself in person. That's what I did covering 4k miles up and down the east coast (I don't trust anyone but myself for the job ;)).

2) Have him send someone from "The Lemon Squad" to come to you and inspect the bike. I spoke with a dealer that had them come to their shop and said they were very thorough in their inspection and assessment. Then he can just arrange to have the bike picked up at your location for transport (I used Keyboard Shipping)

I don't think I would turn the bike over to a H-D shop (I don't trust them either).

I talked to the manager at the Harley dealer and he said they do this all the time for people. The bike is there now waiting inspection.
