Now that would be nice or since Big Dog is back in business maybe, they buy it and start making them for us, I would be quicker to buy a new Big Dog K9 if they showed that kind of support, I have actually been thinking about it and selling my Fatboy S. That or just put an open primary on the Fatboy and call it a day, lol!I'm guessing that now that the new Big Dog Motorcycles are being made with a Jims 6 speed they could use any open belt drive on the market? So, just out of curiosity would baker or any of the manufactures of one that does work for the 05 and newer possibly sell the pattern? And who here has the means to make them?

Well that you can do for sure! I watched the J&P Cycles how to video on YouTube. Looked pretty easy, providing you have the few specific tools required to do it. Only thing is the belt is not 3”...Now that would be nice or since Big Dog is back in business maybe, they buy it and start making them for us, I would be quicker to buy a new Big Dog K9 if they showed that kind of support, I have actually been thinking about it and selling my Fatboy S. I could do a 3" if I want to loose the floorboards and do forward controls. Which I don't. I have the tools i believe, I put a 3" on my old 04 Ironhorse Texas Chopper, I just had to mill down the pulley nut so it was right, it was a weird size if I remember right like 1 3/8" offsetWell that you can do for sure! A lot of great info , was looking to put an open primary on my 06 big dog 117 with the baker 6 speed, I will just leave it as is. ThanksWell, I think I have exhausted all avenues for putting on a belt drive, so in my frustration I made this tonight for my front primary cover. View attachment 78680View attachment 78681

So, I'm guessing there is not enough room on the Mastiff or the bagger to adjust the starter around the transmission either? The main problem your going to run into is, the starter on the K9 is in a different place than the Chopper. I don't believe there is room around the K9 transmission, to repossession it, with Ultima backer plate. I have both inner primary plates in stock. I'll try to make some time this week to dig them both out, to see just what the difference is.
With all the people on here and all of the connections we have....why can't someone get their Baker plate scanned into a file for a CNC machine? I read an article recently that said there are 100's of machines and operators sitting idle throughout the country. If someone scanned one, and tweaked it just enough to avoid any legal issue...I am sure a deal could be made to make a run. Not to mention, you could do a pre order with deposit. Some poor Sap buried in Snow that can't ride right now can donate his/her backing plate for the scan. If I had one, I would have already done this.
And I'll go one step further, if someone will teach me to take off my belt drive without having to pay someone to do it, I'll let whoever use my backplate.
