Battery is dead. Please help me.

Hello everyone i just bought a 2003 Bulldog last week. I drove it 3 days without any issues. Thursday night i drove home turned it off and then nothing at all... not a turn of the motor, nada! I took the seat off today and i have a Antigravity Battery in it. So I just bought a Jump Pack for Lithium Ion Batteries. I hooked it up and she started right up. Let it run for a few turned it off and dead again!
My Question is i have a multimeter. How do i check the bike out? Do i need the bike running to check the battery? How do i check the charging system? Will i need to fully charge the battery before using the multimeter. Thanks in advance for the advice! I wanna get her fixed so i can ride!

The 1st thing to do is check to see what the voltage on the battery is not running, you should have around 12 volts. 2nd start the bike and check what the voltage is while running, this will tell you a couple of things a-is the alternator is operating properly you should see somewhere around 13-15 volts, b-if you do chances are the battery can not hold a charge and replace it, if you do not see the voltage at 13-15 volts you either have an alternator issue or possible bad connection or broken wire somewhere in between the battery and alternator. This should get you started, let us know what you find.

Welcome from NJ Randy,
Your battery needs to read 12.8vdc when not running and high 13vdc but no more than 14.5vdc when running. Make sure your connections are clean and tight. Since you don't know how old your battery is pull it out and have it tested. Don't go crazy trying to figure it all out until you know you have a solid battery and a solid charging system.
Tip- always disconnect the Neg- cable first then the Positive + side. Reverse order to reinstall connect Pos+ side first then the Neg- side.

Thank you everyone! So i pulled the battery. It was a Antigravity Lithium Ion Battery. I went and bought a jump pack and it started up. I then bought a battery charger. The battery was at 24% so i charged it up to 100%. It started right up. Now i have a charged battery im going to check everything that you all suggested to see if i have a drain or if the battery just needed a charge after sitting for so long. Thank you again for all the advice! Ill keep t
