Charging system question

Good evening all
I was going to take my 2009 Ridgeback out for a ride the other night and the battery was dead. Normally I keep it on a battery tender but for the last few weeks I haven’t put it on there. Put the charger on it for a little while then took it off and it started right up and ran good and seem to do fine. I was out for a couple hours and by the time I got it home the Headlight was real dim and it wouldn’t start again . Put it on a battery tender for a couple of days and it seem to charge up fine. Took it off the tender/charger let it sit for a little bit put the meter on it and it showed 12.96. So I started it up and check the voltage at idle which was 12.59 and then I run it up to about 2000 - 2500 RPM and the meter didn’t climb at all stayed about 12.59 let it come back down to an idol same thing about 12.59 brought it back up to about 2500 again and it still didn’t climb. Shouldn’t the amps climb as the RPMs do ? Here is a little video that I took with my phone while it ran of the lights on the EHC and components on there. Well I guess I won’t upload the video it keeps telling me it doesn’t have an allowed extension. So here is a couple of picture of it idling the red and yellow lights on the EHC stay lit and the Green one flashes . On the component just to the left of the circuit breaker has a red light that flashes real fast and a blue and yellow one that flashes alternately which I can’t seem to catch in the picture. Please ignore the wire hanging over the left side of the bike that’s just my garage door opener which I move so I can get a picture. Think maybe it still could be the battery? I would think that since it took a charge the voltage should climb while bringing the RPMs up. This is the first time I haven’t had it on a battery tender since I got the bike. I also just noticed there’s nothing holding that battery down so I’m gonna have to figure out what to do there/get whatever was supposed to be on there from the factory. Any suggestion guys on what to test and how to test it would be greatly appreciated .992F4FBA-58FE-4FE7-8EDB-08CF4915077E.jpegAB1AC45B-6531-400C-B3D0-F7ED61EE6DA6.jpegE1D70D8C-E588-4142-A30A-03A326FBFC19.png5313B97B-96DD-4D99-8321-7A4B87FE0F7A.jpeg52AFD427-81B6-4599-8CAA-175EC8BC771F.png

fire it up and check the voltage on both bolts on the little grey box (circuit breaker) to see if its tripped.
Yes the voltage should increase as you get to about 200-2500rpm.
Next test would be to check the output of the stator going into the regulator -- this is AC not dc set meter accordingly. Search for threads on here on detail how to check.

Just ran out and check the circuit breaker Mike 12V in 12V out. I will have to try to find the post on here for the Stator test how to. I will check then I will get back with you. I will try to find that tonight but I probably won’t get back on here for a couple of days as I have to work two18 hour days back to back starting tomorrow
Thank you very very much for giving me a place to start I appreciate it.

Well guys I would say I found part of my problem. Now I need to check my stator.9FB73BEA-F0C8-4B73-BF75-3C81F774A050.jpeg332E79BA-940C-4250-A630-4D90FB64866E.jpegA815A219-ECCB-418B-8176-3D32A0EC0635.jpeg

Well I did a continuity test on the Stator from plug hole to plug hole first Picture and it shows 2.2 ohms/continuity and from each hole to the motor block Second and third picture and it shows no ohms/continuity. Can I check the stator output with the bike running without the regulator and the stator plugged in with the meter in AC or is that gonna damage something else running it without Both of them hooked up. Couple of pics of what I tested so far. 0F02BC27-55E3-4EA1-94CF-CC86835BCADE.jpeg22C2866E-39B2-4A08-A036-B50D056A7221.jpeg54F96C49-1F3F-4987-9949-5C6175A132DF.jpeg

OK JerseyBigMike I did a search and found back in 2019 were you had chimed in on about check the Stator with the bike running so I did that and it shows an output of 20.95 AC volts at idle and ramps up to 30+ with RPM increase. I was not able to get a snapshot with the RPM increase as I could not hold the probes the camera and twist the throttle at the same time LOL but like I said the meter ramped up to 30+ AC volts.
I’m hoping y’all can look at these pics and what I’ve written and let me know if I’ve missed something or I had the probes hooked up wrong or something??
But It looks like though and I’m hoping all I need is the VR
Thank you guys for the quick responses To my dilemma

Looks like you just need a new VR and you should be on the road again.

I will give an update once I get it installed thanks again guys

Well I talk to Eric at HDM and ordered a New VR and got it like extremely fast ( THANKS Eric ) I installed it last night and everything’s working good again. Give her a little throttle and The Multi meter shows voltage climbs right up their battery is staying charged life is good again.
Took it out for a couple hundred mile ride no issues. Brought it home put it on the battery tender and the light on the tender went immediately to green showing it’s fully charged.

I did discover something I didn’t know. The battery in my bike that was in there when I bought it is a Polaris battery I’m assuming for a Quad or maybe a Jet ski. It says 310 cranking amps and seems to be doing really good it cranks the bike right over no hesitation. I thought that was kind of interesting. I meant to look to see Who the manufacture is but I forgot to look I’ll have to pull it back out and find out who manufactured it. It’s probably made by like Deka for Polaris.
