looking at installing a RSD Turbine air cleaner. I'm running a S&S dule runner right now. I love S&S but it sucks when you get caught in the rain and I don't want to hear don't ride in the rain. Pros or cons on the RSD from people that are running it thank.

I have one my Road Glide, haven't had any issues. I would guess it doesn't have the performance of the Dual Runner though.

More than likely it’s made for a cv carb , so your going to have to figure out a way to mount it !
Mine is an Arlen ness but I like it !

Just recently put an RSD on the Bulldog Bagger, had to buy an S&S to CV carb adpator plate which I actually have an extra if you need one. You will also have to get longer head bolts I actually used bolts that a socket fits not allen screw head bolts and either make new spacers or do like I did and take some chrome washers the same size as the bigger part of the spacer that comes with RSD air cleaner and use them with the spacers that come with the RSD air cleaner.

The only thing that I can say that is either a pro or con is that you will hear this air filter sucking some air, almost like a huge air leak. But I'm guessing that is normal over the Big Dog stock breather. But I know since adding this my bike is running lean so when I get a chance I need to figure out how to go into pro tune software and change a setting that allows my unlocked VFI to self adjust all the time, not just run on the settings the shop put in it. So you'll have to retune carb if that is what you have or possibly retune vfi if its fuel injected.

If as you mentioned you "love" the Dual Runner and the only issue is the rain, have you considered getting the rain socks? I had them for my K9.

I was going to suggest that too, but some guys don't like dealing with those things. I think you would need one for the rsd too, wouldn't you? Are the dual runner filters k&n-type that need oil? If so, the rain doesn't seem to affect my forcewinder. I have a rain sock for it, but I never use it. The oil seems to keep the water out.

Yes Matt, the dual runners need oil.
Hmm, does the rain affect them that much? Granted, I try not ride in downpours, but in a light rain or after washing my bike, it never feels like the motor is sucking in water. When I wash it, I can see the water beading up on the filter. It doesn't seem like it is soaking in.

Hello. I'm thinking myself and possibly a few other members may be thinking, are you going to sell your dual runner after your conversion?????

Yes it affects it a lot in a hard rain and when you're coming out of the Georgia mountains in a downpour there's no place to pull over. The rain socks actually makes it worse and the oil gets pulled in with the rain. Yes I'm keeping the S&S Filter to put on my other K9.

Well got caught in a huge downpour today ! Bike was left in the rain .
Left work , and the bike started to bog down and acted like it was out of fuel . Not to mention 4 ways were flashing ! Came home pulled the hand controls apart and were full of water . The 4 ways eventually turned off on the way home and I am leaving them alone until they are dry ! I am going to add some clear rtv to seal around the handlebars and controls
love the new air filter but not sure how I feel about it running while it’s wet .
