Half helmet suggestions

A sun visor is critical. Weight and looks are great, but keeping the setting sun out of your eyes is a big deal to me. Honestly one of the biggest advantages of nothing at all to me.

Full face blocks the wind, but I just can't stand being that boxed in. The wife wants to get a comm system, which requires full face, but I don't know if it would be worth it. Other buddies wired radios so they can talk bike-to-bike, which would be pretty cool too.

I like a visor at times for the sun and more for when caught in rain, but I spend most of my time HELMET FREE.
If you need the visor and don't like the lift but would like it for rain, pack a baseball cap -- put it on under the helmet and you get an even better "visor" then the removable ones!

Well I’ve been trying on a lot of different 1/2 helmets — looking for one that is really comfortable on my CRACKED head. 14 months after surgery my skull is kinda sensitive to pressure of any on my left side. SO - I ended up with a new BadAss - it is unbelievable light and comfortable compared to others I tried - #2 is a Daytona model — not sure of full Manufacturer name - but it’s also pretty light - not as comfortable by far

Half helmet
OK guys and gals what’s everybody wearing for a half helmet. I’ve been out to the Harley shop and looked at all of theirs but everything looks so big on your head. I looked on the Internet at the crazy Al’s half helmet and it looks like it is fairly small in size but I don’t have anyone around here that has one that I could look at in person it’s hard to judge just from the picture on the Internet.
my state of Iowa doesn’t require that you wear one but some of my bordering states requires one. I do have a full face helmet but it puts such a strain on your neck after wearing it for a while so I just don’t wear it. So for those out-of-state rides I have to have one.
So any suggestions and pictures of people wearing one would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, I know it's the Speed Racer look but the visor is a nice thing to have. It's cool, doesn't bounce around and feels great!

Micro dot helmet is what i bought. Videos on you tube compairing them to others like crazy al.

Well With the help of Ya all I’ve narrowed it down to ( 3 ) either Crazy Al’s / Micro dot or Bad ass.
Crazy Al’s appears to be the lowest profile as it doesn’t have a full liner but they say that it has a bigger weave on the strap and if you don’t shave regularly which that is definitely me it will chaff your neck where as Micro dot and Bad Ass have a fine supple weave that is soft and flexible and won’t chaff your neck.
On Crazy Al’s it doesn’t appear that the strap that goes around your ears Will stay in Adjustment / Front to back Where you put it as the other 2 Micro dot / Bad ass have a better clip there and will stay in place.
They all three have a quick release which is nice.
They all three Weigh less than a pound which is also nice.
Two of these helmets are made in the USA the third one is sold in the USA designed in Canada but actually made in China.
They all three Have that SOA look where it drops down in the back. They say the SOA style rides on some peoples ears and 20 to 30% of people don’t like it touching / riding on There ears and Wind up returning it. ( Decisions decisions decisions )
I just wish one of our dealers around here would carry these helmets so I could try it on before purchasing.

thanks - I had check others on their site and missed checking those somehow.
There's no dealer anywhere close to me so for the moment I'm out of luck (have to try it on first). Maybe next big road trip!

Now if you would've said Starship Troopers I'd agree. I guess I put more emphasis on fit, functionality and comfort than maybe some others. The windscreen is a nice touch if necessary too.
