Hey brand new here!!! I'm confused. I have a 04 pitbull. Split tank. 4.3 gal. But around 55 miles I have to switch to reserve. And when I fill up it's always around 2 gal. I think I'm only using half a tank is their a switch to use the other half of my tank? Lol. Idk. Is it the reserve lever?

This might sound like a dumb question, but are you filling up both sides when you get gas?

Um just the right side I don't think left side opens. Lol. I thought maybe I was supposed to turn the reserve half way to use other side of tank

Hey also while I got you guys on here. It's a s&s 107 super g carb. Do you know where the air fuel mix should be at and also how many turns the accelerater pump should be at?

Check the right side. It should be down quite a bit. The left side might appear to be full, but that is because the bike was on the kickstand. A good bit of fuel has gone from the right tank to the left tank. If you stand the bike up and let the tanks equalize, you should be down a bit in both tanks.

Gottcha. Thanks. So much. One more ? Does the open primary dry clutch make a loud ticking noise if it gets too hot? I don't think it's the motor (9700mi) on it. But lately I'm riding home the last 2 mi are dirt by the way and I'm only doing 20 mph and she's getting hot and LOUD TICKING I can't tell if it's the motor or my clutch

I would use tuning guide and get everything set right first. 20 mph should still move enough air to keep everything relatively cool. If your carb is running lean, it can cause things to get hot.

Sorry, I'm a little late to the show. Back to your gas tank problem. Remove both gas caps, then drain the fuel into a fuel can. watch both tanks levels. They should go down close to the same speed. If not, the cross over tube on the bottom front of the tanks may be pluged or collapsed.

Try turning the left tank cap opposite direction of the right cap, Like you're trying yo tighten it. the threads are bass-ackwards for some reason.
They are "bass-ackwards" to prevent putting the wrong cap on the wrong side because back in the day on Harleys the right cap was vented and the left was not so to prevent fuel from running out the vent if you parked your bike with a full tank

Now that ya said that, I do faintly remember learning that way back in time, but the old memory just isn't what it used to be. Funny how I can remember what those things on the end of shoe strings are called, and how many belt loops are on a pair of Levis, but couldn't for the life of me tell ya what I had for lunch last Friday! Thanks for the refresher lesson!!

Those 90 degree elbows will clog easily....like Mr.Wright check ur cross over hose for being stopped up...also check those 90s off the tank
