I'm wanting to 86 my 05' Choppers fancy electrical system but wanna keep my "stock" controls as I really like the way the line flows. Anyone know of any place to get switches etc that fit?
I'll let others that have done more pipe up about best solution currently.Yah, I realize I'd be scrapping the whole show. Definitely interested in reliable replacements. I got pbc harnesses from HDM, I believe they're OEM. I'm old school and not into electrical issues. If you have a solution Imma all ears bro!
My switch pods died about 5 years ago., and Ive heard bad things about the OEM brain. So I had my whole electrical system replaced by a true motorcycle builder. I put my headlight switch and turn signal switch under my tank. My OEM pods are still there (for now) but do nothing. I now have 3 fuses and absolutely NO PROBLEMS.I'm wanting to 86 my 05' Choppers fancy electrical system but wanna keep my "stock" controls as I really like the way the line flows. That's were I'm heading man!! Just not until the snow flies. I do believe my voltage regulator fried this am. Either that or the stator. If you have any questions, le' me know.
Sans the switches, right? Just use one brake light off the foot pedal. Start button goes slam. Hand signal to turn. Like my right switch so far? VR is hd as is oem stator, the charging system is closed. H/L uses a toggle. Second toggle is the key switch and T/L goes on with it as the brake light now has (+). HD oem cup and crank/s to the OEM spark box... or use whatever is in the cone now, and wire as per.... I'd be scrapping the whole show.
OEM is any dealer thru the states, so go take a trip, you are hd compliant. Search 'chopper wiring diagram' and pick and choose the loop. Because that's all it is. One loop after the other. Lay it out one loop at a time.Definitely interested in reliable replacements.
Wiring up the knuckle as we speak. Shrink, solder, eyelets, toggles, fuses with their own booty cover goes inline with the VR and main off the battery to the lights fandango.I'm old school and not into electrical issues. If you have a solution Imma all ears bro!
Hand signal at night is not really a good choice, at least not where I live. You're lucky if they see you to begin with, I know they're not going to see my hand signal or remember what it means. I use hand signals only to other bikers when in a pack.Sans the switches, right? Just use one brake light off the foot pedal. Start button goes slam. Hand signal to turn. Like my right switch so far?
