Going to Ebay

Ok so I put these on here a few weeks ago and decided to not sell them after all at the time.
The longer I have them the more I know I'll never use the setup. Lots of broken bones from lifes war wounds so my K9 is just a local ride.
Not something I need to sell , just thought maybe someone would put it to use.
So here it is again.
Derek and Donna mentioned to me that they would sell it at $1500 with my struts but I'm keeping the struts so your K9 needs to have the proper struts.
I'm not going to be putting a price on them so just make a reasonable offer for the setup.
If I need to ship them keep in mind that shipping may cost me a bit depending on where it's going so whatever your offer is its without shipping from 48134. Exact ship rate from USPS will be charged, no more.
Ill keep the add here for a week or two them of to Ebay auction it goes if no one here wants it.20200105_135955.jpg20200105_140039.jpg20200105_140059.jpg20200105_140139.jpg20200105_140245.jpg20200105_140256.jpg20200105_140306.jpg20200105_140325.jpgCH]20200105_140001.jpg

Appreciate the info Mike. I think I ran into those bags but cant remember if they came with the ligh mounting hardware. Regardless, this is why I mentioned on making an offer.
If they go tomorrow or a year from now, dont care.
Just looking to pass these on to someone that would appreciate them.

I have been kicking around putting a set of saddle bags on my 07 K9 and having never seen a set of OME bags and their mounting hardware makes your blog is most interesting to me. Your pictures have helped me in making a decision.
I will never put somthing that looks like that and mounts like that on a sweet looking bike like mine. BDM did a amazing job building the K9 and other models and looking at their saddle bags im taken back. I 'm moving forward with my own solition to the problem. If my design looks as bad as theirs just shoot me and put me out of my miseey! Ill post updates (with pictures) on this form.

My complaints with the BDM saddle bags were Not removable and Not lockable, I think the bags matched the lines of the bike well. But to each their own.

I had saddlebags on my first K-9 that I had done myself.

My method was to take easy brackets/ghost brackets so that they were removable bags. The bags I used weren't pretty but functional to get to where I needed then remove them.

Be aware that adding bags makes it even easier to pass the load rating on a K-9 (Trust me I know first hand, but I'm a big guy to start with so that doesn't help either)

I took the struts off and drilled thru 2 holes that hold the fender to the strut all the way thru.

I used a longer bolt and then attached the "studs" that the saddlebags mount onto.

This left 2 small "studs" sticking out of the fenders on each strut that were very subtle (and good for bungee mounts when needed)

Look at the mounts that viking bags have -- same thing basically as wheat I used.

If I were to do it again, I would machine the "stud" myself so that it was a threaded piece so that a button head screw could still be used rather than having the nut inside fender well as I did originally.

If you do go this route and machine new "studs" that are threaded please let me know as I might be interested in a set.

Good luck
Mike

This sounds like a nice way to go...,good setup. I can picture it. You wouldn't happen to have a pic of what you did ? Love to see it Mike.

Thanks mike sounds like good information espically since i havn't committed to a design yet. With that being said let me explain my ideas on design functionality. My concern are 1 appearance im looking for good lines a sleek loolk and i would at least like tp carry a 6 pac which as I cant. I also want to switch between a solo seat and a 2 up and dont want to sacrifice an expensive paint job on the fender.
Starting off my daughter is creating a sticker from a picture of my rear fender so i can shelf the original fender an apply it to the new one . This shold give me matching paint. Then comes a replacment fender $109 on Ebay. Drill to match original.

Well, seems as if my attempt to sell the bags went off on a tangent ! Looks as if an early Ebay is in order.
