Sven that’s a good point and the bike is an 08 but was completely required in 17 the grounds look good and I found 2 and looked thought about they last night.made sure the metal was making good contact thanks for the agreement that it is wired my brain is going loopy on this even call my dad who has worked on cars and bikes his whole life he thinks it is something breaking down slowly because it is slowly progressing. I am going to order coil pack and wires and go back to champion plugs the ones I put in were different so worse case I don’t need to worry about those for a while then if that don’t fix it will wind up and start throwing parts at it just trying not to pay a shop to do it. Going to get in touch with Steve and get the crank sensor then go from there

It's a crap shoot but I would start with the crank sensor because it is the most susceptible to a temperature failure. It's mounted in the crankcase and gets pretty hot down there. Also it's probably the cheapest part from the choices. Last reason is if it turns out not to be the sensor it can be used for future troubleshooting or because it's so easy to replace can be carried on long road trips just in case.

you can test the crank sensor. Hook up a multimeter to it an put on AC. Look on youtube on how to test them. It's easy.

... dad who has worked on cars and bikes his whole life...
You two need another chat. Ask him what camp he joined? The fix it before it happens, or fix it when it breaks? I hale from camp wallet. The fold only wrinkles open when it breaks. While the brain is buzzing, I'll pepper this as many times like taking a shit: E~you cannot separate heat from the chemRe. Dad says it just gets worse is the 'heat' breakdown. Now, take that theory on any E part.

I am going to order coil pack and wires and go back to champion plugs.... so worse case I don’t need to worry about those for a while
2 out of 3 I agree, but who says the coil is heat stroked? Plug wire breakdown is just watt, every plug change? Ever change the wires on a car's lifetime? Rare is that bird, yes? Let the bike idle. Do this at night. Hand spray bottle like windex uses. That mist in the air is going to make contact with the plug wire and ground from the leak to the mist to the head. Twist the plug cap towards the head so you see it jump before the plug. See spark, change out the wires.

Coil pack is match sides with an ohm meter, meaning, where the plug wires go, to the two screw lugs. Equal numbers, no problem found. Coil body cracked, split, bulged any? Heat that chemRe is the expansion of heat. Work that theory first. Where is my heat I need to change out a coil pack? Those campers are so anal, they might as well change out the wheel bearings, the crank pin, and for what?

Fall far from the tree is all I'm saying is penny wise, dollar short without a short. You'er in the hot seat now.

Well I have narrowed it down to one big problem. I am only running on one cylinder with low rpms but when they get high enough it kicks in and runs good until the rpms get to low then back fires and try’s to cut out. I am wandering if anyone has had issues with the compression releases sticking open or closed. I am not giving up

Hey Big , I just noticed you were not able to resolve your issue. What parts did you end up putting in ? Did you do a compression test on both cylinders? Is the failing cylinder way low in comparison ?

So you know the one pipe gets hot. Swap plug wires and see if it lights the other cylinder at startup.

Well I checked compression and it was the same on both cylinders and yes switched plugs around but that is when I took it to the doctor and let someone who knows more than me look it over. No I didn’t give up but with work going crazy and 60 to 70 hour weeks it is tough to find time to do any thing even sleep thanks guys I will post when I get it back with what the verdict was
