Back in 2016 I had some motor work done and the workmanship caused my 117 to blow, so I highly recommend getting a mechanic that knows his/her shit before just letting the local shop do the work. I ended up buying a new 124 from the speed shop at S&S Cycles. But the one I bought had been built up (customized) for another person who ended up backing out of the deal with S&S so I didn't pay full price on it since they were closing the speed shop down and thank god for Jennifer from S&S that was so helpful on giving me a killer deal on it. But depending on how you build your 124 up and the HP and Torque increases, you better budget for the hardened thru main transmission shaft kit and a primary belt drive. The stock transmissions or DSSC are only able to handle around 120 ft-lbs of torque, or maybe horsepower I can't remember. But I ended up spending more than I expected once I dropped the built 124 in because I had to get the shaft kit and belt drive to handle the HP and torque.
