I have an 08 ridgeback and went for a ride today about an hour after returning saw fluid running down primary from the inspection door at the lower screw is there a gasket that could be bad or something else

Might just be loose screws. Make sure they are tight. If they are, you probably need a new gasket. You can get them from Derek & Donna or Curtis at Wild Steed Worx.

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
The manual says to tighten them to 108 inch pounds (8 ft. lbs.). I usually clean the area of oil, clean or replace the gasket, And use a small amount of gasket seal. Torque to 50 in. lbs. then to 80 in.lbs. using an ‘X’ pattern. It is common to break an ear off the inspection plate if the torque is too tight or uneven.
Shovelheadkicker (Derek snd Donna) ha stainless replacements if needed-gaskets too.

Be certain not to over torque the cap screws, it is very easy to strip out the threads on the outer primary, if you have stripped out the threads, use a helicoil to repair.

If you over tighten the inspection cover the corners can easily crack. Go slow and carefully. Otherwise you will be waiting for a new inspection cover in the mail.

A little RTV and you will be good to go. As everyone else has said don't over torque the cover bolts....learned this the hard way after reading the manual which is wrong. Skogdog has it right, 80 inch pounds final.
