I could tell when mine went bad I found one laying in my driveway.if it's in the middle of the rocker cover, it is electric/automatic. they will need to be replaced when they go bad, but you will be able to tell when.
the innards of mine from rear cylinder went flying by my ear on highway flop flop flop, nice sound it made after.I could tell when mine went bad I found one laying in my driveway.
they should work automatically, you can feel them dropping down when pushing start. put your finger on top of one and try.to assist with cold weather starting should i push those bubbles in and let them automatically pop out?
nope if those work as they are supposed to.so pushing in manually won't add any value?
The compression releases close after one second. Holding them open by hand can help turn the motor over if it's really cold or the battery is a little weak.so pushing in manually won't add any value?
Holding one open may be enough. I have to do this on my bike once in a while if it sits too long. If you have a buddy to hold both open, I'm sure it would be even better. I started a thread on this subject a few months ago. I'll post the link.Just so I'm clear open=pushed in and closed=popped out.
So on really cold days it could help my starting if I were able to somehow (likely with a buddy) push both bubbles in and hold them pushed in until the motor turns over?
