The speedo is intermittent, it will light up initially like the photo and at some point fail. No lights for high beam, neutral, mileage, speed or RPM, but both turn signals lights in the speedo work. Everything else on the bike functions normally.

I installed a new battery ( I had no history with the old one), checked the connections above the transmission cover and checked battery connections. I am looking for ides how to trouble shoot. I test rode it today, it started normally, but as I was riding it would fail momentarily and the come back on.

As I said earlier, the turn signals still light up, that would lead me to believe the speedo is still getting power, any ideas on how to trouble shoot would be appreciated.65404

Mine is doing the same thing. I was told those are signs of the ehc going bad. I’m fixing to take off ehc and send it to Curtis. I’ll let you know what he figures out hopefully it is something simple like a bad connection.

Cruz Dog does all your lights work and everything, on mine the high and low beam work, turn signals and tail lights work, the only issue is the speedo.

Im not sure that is the problem.....

This is the first time I've really looked at an EFI medallion speedo. Didn't realize it didn't use a similar tach ring as the others.

Although I suspect the wiring is the same up the backbone so you could have the dummy lights working and the speedo not working as its on separate lines. @SKOGDOG will know

I have to have power to the speedo I would think, since the turn signals work when nothing else on the speedo does. I'm thinking it's a short, bad ground or the speedo itself is going bad.

When the speedo doesn’t work my tail lights won’t work. Turn signals and break lights will sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t

I agree, it's a bad wire somewhere or just speedo is going south.

just ehc was mentioned and considering it's just an intermittent isolated issue I would go there last.

Now, I have almost the same issues as Cruz Dog, speedo failed again today and people riding behind me said I had no tail lights but the turn signals worked. When I turn the key on the speedo powers up normally and ALL lights work, it only fails after you start to ride. I started the bike in the garage and let it run for 5 minutes, everything worked properly.

Under the seat there are 2 modules, when you turn the key on, the one flashes all red momentarily and then I have a flashing green light and a steady ON yellow light. Nothing changes during the start and while idiling. I don't have a clue if that's normal or not.

That sounds like a normal indication at key on and startup. Went out to the garage and double checked on mine.

Curious if anyone found the answer. To me, wiring that never gets messed with, how can it just start acting up? I would think it would be something like the speedo or module or EHC. Electrical things can act up momentary. For example my 04 Chopper the headlight would go out, then come right back on. Bike would shut off sitting at a traffic light, then start right back up. Unfortunately in my case it was the EHC. I guess it never hurts to check your wiring especially if your messing with it. Hope in your case it is a simple fix. Wrote all this because the strong cup of coffee made me do it.

If you rear lights are going out I would have the EHC checked. You would actually be better off if that were the case.

I say that because the Medallions are not longer available, or serviceable. I have called and spoken to them personally.

Is there an option for the Medallion units?
