I love them LOL
I can't argue you with there! I love them too!

A few more years and 7500 will be the normal price point I suspect. No matter what we all like they are getting older.

Also, we might see some that need a lot of work and those are the ones I'm keen to bring to life! I saw an old 2004 chopper here in Dallas area and he wanted $6200, I went and looked at it and it needed a ton of work! Chrome was all pitted or rusted modifications were all done on the cheap needed 3-4k in parts to get it back to what I what I would throw my leg over that's for sure. Oh and the front cylinder made a shit load of noise! I suspect it was the valves and not a bad lifter so heads needed to be redone as well. I gave him my Max price and never heard back from him, he owed money on the bike too! More than it was worth!

It's actually really close to me but dealing with the holiday stuff is kind of chaotic right now but my offer would be to look at the bike and video it and watch the guy ride it but only if someone on the forum was pretty much serious enough to buy, not merely curious - I wouldn't be able to do it until Friday night or Saturday morning
I sent you a pm.

The guy(Mark) finally replied to my message on Tues. As to my question "are there any issues at all", he said no and it runs perfect. I sent him my number asking him to call me or shoot me a number and best time to call him and the conversation ended. Haven't heard anything since.

Same thing happened to me/ He has a loan on the bike, i asked him whats the name of the bank and he gave me the turn around/
He said give me the money and i give you the bike and a notarized paper while we wait for the title.
After that conversation i ran as fast as i could & didnt look back!!!:chopper:

I gave them a date but it took about 2 weeks...mostly depends on their schedule and amount of cargo on board.

I purchased a few bikes how to state. But, never sent the deposit, always talk to him on the phone, always got the Vin number and ran a check and make sure the bike was currently registered in their name. Even with all that I'd never send any cash. I always say, that we have a deal I'll be out in a week to look at the bike and if it's everything as advertised, will go to the bank together I give you the cash and you give me the title.

I think sending any deposit or payment on anything that's advertised like this, there's a huge chance that you're never going to see the bike or your cash. A couple years back, went to LA twice to look at bikes. Both times even after seeing photos, when I saw the bikes in person, and listen to the engine I pass on the deal. It's really tough to see pitted or bubbling chrome on most photos. And in one case, when I looked at the engine oil, it looked almost black.

One bike I purchased here in California, I learned the hard way that if they didn't keep paying on the registration (a minor fee when listed as non-operating), when the new owner takes the paperwork into the California DMV, you are hit with all the back registration fees as well as penalties.

Also I think when somebody says the speedometer is not working, that's a big red flag. Oh, they may have estimated 6500 miles, but in actuality it may have four times that. I always look at the frame under the engine for how bad it scraped up. These bikes it go to the ground and I have a pretty good idea what scraping should look like with 5 to 7000 miles on the bike.

Just my opinions ...
