Valve train noise

Okay i got the 08 Ridgeback and the vavetrain (heads) seems to be a little noisy to me.
The specs in the 08 manual and on the sticker in the bike (I'm gonna take it off) notes valve adjustment at 4 1/2 turns on the push rod.

I know on the 05 and 06 models the specs called for 4 turns on the pushrod and the manual had a footnote to go to 3 turns if excessive noise was encountered.

Has anybody heard anything about the 08 adjustment and or the 07's when they went back to S&S boxes.

Thanks V:up:

V dude, if your coming from an HD or something similar yes these scoots make more noise but be patient as you break her in it will get much better. Mine was like a sewing machine gone awry for the first 1,000 miles it got much much better when I went to synthetic oil and changing out the stock pipes. I have just over 3,000 miles now and it runs like a top, very quiet -- better than my HD ever was. Good Luck :2thumbs:

Slow thanks for the reply my previous ride was a 05 Pitbull. I know the wider tank on that bike covered up some of the noise vs the chopper. Just wondered if any info had been put out about pushrod adjustment like they did in 05 and 06

Thanks V:cheers:

You described exactly what my 08 ridge sounds like. I have 1500 on her now and she still sounds pretty much the same. So switching to synthetic and changing pipes out and putting more miles on her will calm the noise or do I need to drop her off at the shop and let them adjust everything?
