Whats up with kickstands

I got the longer kickstand and it seems to be holding up well, the other just leaned the bike way too much and felt a little wollered out.

Yes I agree, I got the 1 inch longer but on my bike it still looked like it leaned way too far. So that prompted me to make my own. There is a bushing that the bolt goes thru and with time it will ware and make the stand wobble. I put in a new bushing (made mine) and it really has a more solid feel. I'm hopping that the 308 will not ware as much as the original stand did. Will keep an eye on it..

I Never seen a Arlen Ness kickstand. So cannot comment, however my original stand functioned without an issue, other than I didn't like the way it leaned. If you gassed it up on the original stand you would be almost 3/4 of a gallon shy of being fully rated for the tank. With my new stand I fill it up to the bottom of the splash ring. No issues so far. I have about 2 hundred miles on the new kickstand so I am keeping an eye on the ware as SS might be a little softer than the original. I kept the 1 inch over stock just in case... The old saying if you are riding, then you hardly use the kickstand. Makes sense but here in Oklahoma the really bad months are January and February and it is just about too cold to ride. Other than that I love the cooler weather, no sweat running down your back. Throttle up!!!

Yes I know, the stock 2006 kickstand is using the weight of the bike to lock the stand in the down position but I didn't like the way the stock stand made the bike lean. Again Next week I will put a harden center pin on my new stand and make sure that it does not fail. I like the way Jwooky's kickstand looks in the down position. Will post a completed picture next week.. Too much in the shop to do so will have to wit until Monday or so.

Thanks Jwooky, I laid the flames down last February. Thought that It need a face lift.
