Been having starting problems now for a while changed out battery change plugs check coil and wires. There's a little left side of oil filter a rubber plug with two prongs that plugs into another rubber plug mine is very worn out could this be what's causing me headaches any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't think the stator and in the VR plug will keep it from starting wouldt it?

Nope (unless there is a short somewhere) if the battery is well charged...

Clean you solenoid contacts, might help. you can do this without removing the starter.
