Agree when I received yours “thanks” I thought omg this is actually worse than the wire plus system. I didn’t think it was possible but they did. Some upgrade that was! I wonder who the genius was that designed that mess. Probably super smart guy with no common senseTrust me, it looks the same way all balled up under the seat of the bike..

That is a big box full of EHC’s, RIP Kits, Wires Plus...... Ripped of and replaced with systems that support European rear light regulations
I suppose those are all in working order. About 20 of them...

You are absolute right. Bike electric is no rocket science and there are several possibilities beside of my EHC on the market if the user is willing to spend 1 or 2 days for the change of the harness or parts of it. I have seen several of the cable pics. It´s sometimes funny how many cables are in a bike. I still like the following pic what I found 2 years ago and what still work in many bikes:
However, in a modern bike is a little bit more electric inside but you can reduce the amount of cables with my digital harness, what contains a handle bar box and a frame box. All electrical loads in the bike have short distances to one of the 2 control devices. You´ll find some infos at http://www.elektronikbox.de/cbox_uk.html .
I attach the schematic:
This reduces the amount on cables and the time for installation significant. However, it´s just one more of seceral options and everything between the 2 pics will work...

Rocket science is easy! Take a tube, bent other end pointy and put an engine/ explosives on the other end, launch. Voila, you have a rocket
