Hope you can get the buttons back on the rotors! Hopefully chromer didn't thicken it too much.
Who did you use for chrome? Someone you use often? Reason I ask is because I'm thinking soon I might just need a guy

I used the shop in Cuba Mo. They were the only ones I could find that would plate aluminum. Next time I do small parts (Alu) I'm just gonna have Mike polish them. There is a place down here that does metal and they are really good. I'm happy with the results I got from the chrome shop in Cuba.

There are several threads on this. If it's just the little scratches your trying to get out, Mother's Billet and flannel cloth. You can go to wallyworld, and buy it by the yard for about $3. Micro fiber rags will scratch.

Well here we go, back together again. The only thing I didn't get finished cleaning and polishing was the front forks and handle bar controls.
Those of you that were at Dave's for BB&BBQ remember that certain somebody who was late for the ride, because he was still trying to get he speedo back together. And we all said just tape it in. Thanks a lot.
The controls were really bad too.
Little polish and elbow grease.
Got a few things together. Only got 6 hours in today, because of a late start, and I had another job come in, that I had to get started on. But it's back on the rack now.

I took the baffles out of my big radius cause I hated the muffled sound. I installed thunder monster baffles and love em !

This will give you an idea of why you should do a tear down now and then. Big Daddy had already cleaned the inner primary before we decided to separate the trans from it. This is what he missed.
Water had become trapped in the cavity along the bottom side of the trany, and was deteriorating the metal.
I have tried just about everything you can imagine to clean the stains off a trany, but magnesium just won't shine. Big Daddy took my dremel and a little wool bit with polishing compound and it came out pretty good.
Throttle cable ends had a bit of rust on them. Left one is before, and the right one is after scrubbing it with WD-40 and aluminum foil.
Sorry, didn't get a stopping point picture, just have to wait till tomorrow.

Had to get some other stuff done today besides working on the bike, but I managed to make an inspection cover for the primary, drive pulley cover, and clutch cable, primary cover w/ new derby covers, brake rotors back together, and few other little things.
New head light, oil cooler and stash tube clutch cable, and all 4 signal lights.
My new tire machine, is suppose to be in tomorrow, so we can get the new tires mounted.

The ole dog is really coming together nice! I couldn't be happier with the results so far everything looks great. When I do list it for sale it will be nice to say with total confidence that there are absolutely no issues with the bike.
I told Shannon that I'm glad we went through it I have a special attachment for this little dog, I wanted to make it look new again. This Mastiff has given me a lot and it didn't seem fair to not return the favor. If I hadent bought this bike I would never have have bought the k9.
Aside from it never leaving me stranded and worry free motorcycle it helped me meet so many people I now consider dear friends, you all know who you are. I am glad to know you all and proud to call you my friends. If not for this little mastiff knowing all of you wouldn't have happened. This mastiff build is a tribute or a symbol of our friendship (mine and yours) because had it not been for it we would have never met. I must admit that this makes me a bit emotional. Not getting a chance to know you all would certainly have been a loss to me. That's why the rebuild is worth every penny, because all of my new friends are worth it and so much more. Thank you all for the kindness you have shown me over the last couple of years. If you have to ask yourself is he talking to me, yes dear friend I am. Brotherly love to you all.
