Just a little note: If your riding in, make sure you fill your bike up before you get there. If your coming on 400 fro the East, Fredonia is the last gas station. And if your coming from the west, somewhere around where 99 intersects 400, there is a station.
If you pulling there, bring an extra 5 gal with you, because someone will forget.

What kind of guns could we bring should we decide to and what are the shooting rules. Is there a long range like 600 to 1000 yards? Are 50 cal rifles allowed?

If you want to shoot the big guns, you can stop by my place. Flint Oaks doesn't actually have a gun "range", just a place to waste ammo.

Why are you guys using such high octane gas in a 9.6:1 compression engine. Octane should be matched to compression. 93 octane gas is formulated for 11:1 or even higher compression. 89 octane gas will likely burn more completely in our engines. Why waste money on gas designed not to pre-ignite with high compression Ducatis, Ferarri's, Lambos etc... Premium does not mean more power or cleaner gas. The BTU of 87 octane gas is the same as 91. Ethanol lowers the BTU's but increases the octane.

You are correct, to a point. The book says 91 and above only, and up to 10% Ethanol is ok. Some of us are running a bit more compression than stock. Plus I don't mind spending a few extra cents per gal, for my lady.

I always select the premium gas for my prized possessions. If the book says 91, then I'm selection it or higher. Same is true of my corvette.

Sure, running down the freeway at a constant speed doesn't really need high octane. But, who does that. It's boring.

Cut right out of the 2005 manual: FUEL SYSTEM: Use only unleaded gasoline. Ethanol blended gasoline is approved as long as it has 87 octane minimum. Methanol or methanol blended fuel is NOT approved for use in your Big Dog Motorcycle.

Yes, if you have bumped your compression above 10:1 then 91 Octane would be appropriate, but not 93+. Premium is a misnomer. It should really be labeled slow burn/anti-knock and 87 octane labeled fast burn. There is an optimum octane for a given compression and that is what should be used. High octane racing fuels can actually lower HP and torque when not compressed sufficiently, especially as the engine heats up. This is based on numerous published tests. Science seems to indicate that engines will perform best with the lowest octane that will prevent pinging.
