Cam question for 04 Ridgeback

Energy One
I have searched and searched. Maybe I’m over looking something. I have an 04 Ridgeback with 107ci. Is my bike a twin cam? Or evo? I’d kinda like to do a cam to wake it up a little but still have good Highway manners. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same motor.... it is an Evo type motor and requires an Evo type oil filter. I have a 600 cam in mine... it's enough for me.

so single cam? Assuming that evo means single cam. Any suggestions on which cam to get? I would like to get all the power I can obviously but still keep reliability and over all ride ability. I don’t wanna really wind the engine to high rpm so low and mid range rpm power would suit me.
How’s the 600 cam as far as street manners? Where is the power band?

You probably already have the 600 cam in it. If you go to anything bigger, you will have to do the heads too, to change the valve springs. That's what a guy at S&s told me.

I was thinking they came with a smaller cam per epa from big dog? So the 04 107’s came with a large cam?

...well; the cam comes on about 3500 rpm.... just where you are about to shift. So you either short shift... or turn it loose !! No issues at lower rpm.... but that has more to do with your air/fuel ratio and speed; carb tuning. I have the standard super g 31/76 jets and a xXx carb setup. No complaints; just smiles :)

05 and newer, I have not seen or heard of a 107 with a smaller cam. Call S&S with the number off your engine, and they will tell you what is in it for sure, and what you have to do to go bigger.

Hmm my bike seems sluggish. I did put screamin eagle plugs in when I changed the oil. I gapped then to .038. I’ll pull them and see if I’m too rich or lean. Maybe i need to tune my carb. I am definitely going back with champion or ngk plugs.

I’ll give S&S a call tomorrow and I’ll update

ok just got off the phone with S&S. My engine came with an “epa compliant” 520 cam. Don’t know if they all did in 2004 just know that’s what mine came with. He said the stock valves were good for up to a 640 lift. So a 600 cam is about as big as you wanna go on a stock 107ci

You will like it. Thanks for the info.
Yes sir. I will update when I get it installed. Anyone know the part numbers for the cam cover gasket and the cam gasket inside the little S&s 107 cover? I figure I’ll go on and replace while I’m in there. Also will a cam come with spacers to set the back lash in case my current one will put me out of spec ?
