Knows some things
An alarm isn't going to do any good. They make other things, like GPS tracking devices, and stuff like that. If they want your bike, it will be gone before you can do anything about it.

I don't think this has been mentioned yet. But, any alarm system is going to put an additional drain on your battery. And, battery health is very important on a Big Dog. I had an alarm system on my Triumph once. Then I had a weak ass battery on an important man trip. 790 CCs are not hard on a battery. I ended up cutting the wires and doing a couple of push starts. It no longer has an alarm system and all has be so go that if another bike isn't up to the challenge, my Bonneville America is my go to bike.

Remove the seat , disconnect the battery.
4-5 guys with a regular 'ol pickup , and you're walking home from the bar. Street glide's aren't light but that's exactly what happened to my bro. Luckily the bar had security cameras.

I have a rotor lock with and alarm on it. So they have to pick up the ass end, and still the alarm will go off. At least someone may hear it, and me know, or at least scare them off.

GPS tracking technology is great nowadays, all of our fleet vehicles have geotab, and majority of our new power tools also have GPS tracking.
Good for a bike:

Exactly if you don't have a Monthly service fee you don't have a GPS tracker. It needs to ping cell towers so you can figure out where the bike is. If it doesn't have a monthly service fee the tracker only probably works If your within 100 feet of the bike which is basically useless.

I have the rotor alarms, but if they want it they'll take it. My dilema is a deterent to stop people from sitting on the Dog - I understand people wanna see how they sit/feel & some take pics. I've spoke to Dog owners that hav had scratched tanks & fenders from shoes/boots dragging across them while parked, even one was knocked over & dented tank while amongst a grp of up right Harleys. Any ideas?
