Wider gas tank on ridgeback

Just wondering if anyone has a wider tank on their Ridgeback/ chopper/ K9 (assuming they are similar) Much like the ones that came on the pitbull. I love my Ridgeback but the skinny tank to me would look better with wider one.

Well one thing I didn’t like about my o4 pit bull was the gas tanks . So I decided to build a ridgeback out of the pit bull. I like the smaller tank with the slimmer rear 250 on the ridgeback

I never liked the looks of the Ironhorse for that reason, tanks are too skinny. You might have to do some fabrication to get what your looking for.

I’d love to see a tank that flares out a little wider. I think the stocker looks good, but a tad wider would be better IMO. I’ll try to search around an see what I can find.

I did mine with my brothers help. My purpose was gas capacity as I used to ride a lot of miles and that little 3.4 gl tank just wasn't cutting it. So we cut mine up and expanded it. I wanted the front of the tank to be about the width of the forks while retaining the rear where it meets the seat. We cute the tunnel out then split the tank and put a 3 in wedge in it. I also moved the fuel cap to the right side so when I gassed it up I could fill it further. This did not create leakage when bike was uprighted. Was a lot of work in two days but well worth it. Not a project for the average person. You need an excellent tig/mig welder and a lot of patience. Total capacity was increased to 5 gl which allowed me to go a lot further between gas stops on my cross country rides. I am known to run out of gas from time to time. I still carry a 1/2 container in my pack! Here are a couple of the pictures along with a link to my FB album with a lot more photos.

We did my cool fender mod also to prevent rain water in my pack.

Don't forget to cut out the vent tube. It's not needed with a vented cap. Paint was provided by Chili's friend while I was down in Chihuahua for about $250.
