Hydrochloric acid to remove the chromium; or a proprietary formulation that is usually HCl-based. Then electrolytically remove the bright nickel, then remove the copper electrolytically or with a persulfate-based solution. Acids are usually not a huge deal for aluminum, but it will digest readily in a strong base, especially with the addition of heat. The way I understand the process to recrome a piece you first have to remove the old chrome. On a steel piece it dosent seem to be a big deal. Aluminum seems to be a different animal. The process sometimes destroys the finer details of the aluminum piece. Let us know what the plating company tells you. Good luck!
That came out awesome!Space Coast Plating did my home made sissy bar. Did a awesome job. Recommended to me on here.
