Most remember back when Shain went down to Florida to get his K9, then the next week he hit a deer. It took a few months to get it back together, and we were on a limited budget. Just made it ride-able, and fixed the dent in the tank and painted with a rattle can.
Well the time has come to do a complete make over of this salty Dog.
Sorry I didn't get many pictures of the tear down. I'll try to do better on the build.
Right after we started, Sniper stopped by, but was no help.
We had a late start, and called it quits after 5 hours.
You can see how the salt air destroys aluminum.
Had to drill the bolts out, to get the brake rotors off.
By lunch time, we had everything cleaned up. Rolled it off the table and removed the forks
After much discussion, we came up with a paint idea, based of Shamrocks bike, but won't look like his.
He's going to have the frame power coated in a dark forest green. Like the early 70 GM color. It's almost black, it's so dark. What we like about Shamrock's bike, is the flames are the same color as the frame. And the base color will be Organic green candy, over Planet green base coat.
Stay tuned.
