Hi All, I need your assistance please

I am in the UK and have acquired an old Bulldog [2005] which I am slowly getting back on the road. Doing all work myself as no dealers here. The rear fender strut is a work of art and i love it, So how do you guys fit a Sissy-bar without ruining the look? There is sod all clearance between inner bolts and tyres so how did you get round the issue. Are there special kits for these older bikes - links/photos and ideas please. My bike is ex salvage from California is pictured here showing the struts.
