Foot peg Clevis

I just got my new Kury Sweptwings today. Man they are large and heavy so should do a great job of absorbing vibrations and being comfortable.
I just have to go to the store tomorrow and get some shims cause there is a little extra clearance but I can shim it out and will have them on tomorrow. Will post a pic when I get them done.

I got lucky and actually found a set at the San Antonio BD dealer last week. Like Ray mentioned, they are much bigger then they look from their pictures. They had a pair of the Sweptwings too. Nice big hunks of metal.

I'll have to give Vickie a call soon and order a set of the flame pegs after my next hitch. :2thumbs:

yeah i forgot to mention that you will need either a wave washer or a nylon washer to make up the difference between the clevis and the peg. sorry about that.

The thinking behind that was that when you bought a set of pegs from harley or kuryakn they always used to supply the wave washer that helped stiffen the peg opening while still allowing it to fold up. If you just use enough clearance to get the peg in and tighten the bolt then they would not fold up and thought this would be a safety issue. But like everything else there getting cheaper and not supplying that washer anymore I guess.

I looked at all those pegs and decided to go with the Widows because they had more surface area than most of the others. I had Vickie giving me the sizes from her book because most sizes are not on the Site.

I haven't received them yet and when I do get around to installing them I'll let you know. (It may be a couple of weeks before I'm cleared to ride)

Better late than never. These pegs are nice and wide and I can put my heels up on them, damn near as good as foot boards. The best part is no vibration.

I went with the Kuryakyn adaptors, I liked the fit with the supplied nylon washers in the counterbores and the cast in spline that locks into the peg.

the stir-ups are the shit, i like my pegs. they vibrate more then stock but its worth it. had a little problem with clearance on my pipes though, still not sure exactly what im goin to do.

Steve - I'm running the same pegs but w/o stir-ups. FYI - Kury sells a spacer kit in either 1" or 1 1/2" that will extend the entire peg outward. I use them on the right side only to keep my knee off the air cleaner.

Question on the stir-up - can you change out the peg itself? In other words is the lower peg identical to a toe shifter where you can screw in any toe shift?

im pretty sure the toe shifter and the stur-ups are the same. i know that you can't mount the toe shifter on our bikes without alittle bit of hardware.

Kuryakyn Pegs w/ Stirrups

and by the way havent scrapped um yet, ive got about 1000 miles on um so far. they dont ride to bad. take alittle getting used to with the stir-up.

Have a set of these on my HD 'Train, have many long miles on it, and the stirrups are a real blessing - "added a hunnert miles to my day"...

But have same problem: Mounted on Accutronix forward controls, the stirrups almost touch the heat shield. Just been dumlucky so far, but ordering extenders (keep my leg off the Hypercharger).

Same situation with Power PACC on Dog?

Scraping? Crap, what fun is it if you don't make sparks once in a while? More better K pegs than parts of the Dog. Just wish there was more night time riding up here so I could see the show!

Foot pegs/clevis trouble

I AM TOO STUPID to separate my 02 pegs from their clevises. Just got a whisker bar for my 06 but cannot take the pegs off I saved to put on it.
Can anyone advise me of the obvious?
Once I took the through bolt out of the peg, I thought I could pull the two apart...I can't drive them apart, and don't want to scratch em up by prying.
Any suggestions?
